Eating Disorder Treatment for Teens and Adolescents
At Center for Discovery, we have been providing residential eating disorder treatment for teens and adolescents for over 18 years. A central foundation at Center for Discovery is that teens and adolescents dealing with disordered eating including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder both deserve and need personalized eating disorder treatment that applies to their specific situation and meets their individual needs. Throughout our history, we have developed a continuing legacy of successful eating disorder treatment, helping our clients achieve long-term recovery from eating disorders and go on to live full, happy, and productive lives. At Center for Discovery Plano, our residential facility is dedicated solely to helping adolescents and teens with eating disorders as a primary diagnosis and is located within a residential neighborhood to ease the transition between treatment and home.
I am so blessed and pleased to announce that the Director, Ms. Whitney Russell (pictured to the left), and I will be partnering for the completion of the Embrace Struggle Event. Center for Discovery is a beautiful program that has impacted thousands of lives around the country and locally in our Plano, Texas. 8 of our paintings at the gallery will be original works of art designed by the pains and emotions of these patients undergo as they completed their art therapy. I am so excited and hope we can all take in and be a witness to these young girls lives. All the proceeds from the event will be going back to this Center for Discovery location.
I am so excited to be including Ms. Victoria Scarborough, MPS, ATR-BC, LPC-AT, LCAT, CEDS in the amazing project Embrace Struggle. She specializes in eating disorder patient counseling, and art therapy at Eating Recovery Center. She uses art therapy sessions with all her patients in their process through recovery. Her program is generously participating with 5 of their patients to create art work for our project.
