This past week has been a great week. I have set up six interviews, as well as conducted one phone interview with Ms. Shelton. It was a pleasure to hear the wisdom she had about her work. She was incredibly kind, and patient with me. I feel, coming out of our phone interview, enlightened and motivated to continue pursuing this career even harder, because of her evident passion for what she does. I am thankful for the opportunity to speak with her, because I learned things I didn’t know before, as well as, some tips and tricks to be the best dietitian I can be one day. However, it was only a phone interview. This coming week I have three back-to-back interviews, which means I can’t read words off a page. I have practiced and prepared to ensure I can get as much out of these interviews as possible, and I am excited to hear from these other diverse professionals. Furthermore, I really enjoyed my research paper this week. It was about the basic food groups and the purposes they serve for our body, the faults of dieting, and the unhealthy habits athletes place on their nutrition. Also I found this study called the Enneagram test, which is a very intricate, developed, and thorough “personality test” to put it simply. Interestingly, the Enneagram includes eating patterns, mistakes, and habits each personality type falls into when stressed, secure, or normal. That was very interesting, and hit true for every person in my family, and myself. I am excited to learn from my upcoming interviews this week, and am working to create ideas for my original work.
