This last week was a week where I was filled with knowledge. I had about four interviews in this one week. I have addressed almost every sector of the dietetic field range, from sports dietitians, counseling dietitians, wellness professionals, private practice owners, clinical dietitians, etc. I even spoke to a dietetic professional trainer, and she connected me to a therapist that is working on exactly what I am proposing for my final work. I feel that through this diligent and lengthy processes of interviewing more than necessary has provided me with the clarity to hone in on a particular part of dietetics that I know I will love, as well as, has networked me with people I never would of known I could meet. One of the professionals I spoke with told me that ‘dietitians will typically be super eager to help a fellow learner out, because they are all filled with compassion and really care for the cause and want to lay a good pathway for future encouragers of the cause’. What great encouragement for me and my struggling journey to find a mentor. Still haven’t found a mentor, so I am questioning whether I should interview specifically only private practitioners or if I should pick from the one I already interviewed?

Furthermore, I started my Original work, starting with the Enneagram official survey to get the population pool of types, before I start my personally created questionnaire with a smaller controlled portion of that larger sample. So far people have been really intrigued and encouraging about my plans for my Original work, which is very motivating, and I really hope it all works out well. So moving forward, after next Thursday (my goal to gain 100 survey responses) I will start pulling the participants for interviews to respond to my questionnaire and will then have three weeks to complete at least 50 interviews for my data to find the eating tendencies among the total assumed population per type. So I am excited for the future ahead and busy in the present till that day comes.
